A new year and I am needing a new creative project. I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time. Considering that I was pregnant last year, I seemed to lose all creativity, perhaps it was because my mind was so distracted with the waiting arrival of my little bubba or perhaps it was just because I was so tired all the time. I don’t know but I can’t even remember the last time I took out my big girl camera…and that’s not like me at all. Of course I’ve taken loads of photos, I have over 1,300 photos currently on my iPhone, but that’s just it, all the photos I have taken are on my iPhone. It’s just so easy to pick up my phone and snap shots but I need more than that.
So, with the new year upon me, I decided that it was time to get my big girl camera out and take on the challenge of a new photography project {Always looking to improve on my photography skills!}. I’ve decided to join in on the 52 week photography project of a portrait a week, each week for 52 weeks throughout 2016. I’ve been following Practising Simplicity blog and absolutely love the portraits that Jodi has taken of her children over the years. And I have been totally inspired to take my own weekly photos.
How wonderful to be able to look back over the year, my first year of being a Mama and see the special moments or even more importantly the every day moments of life as a Mama to Sebastian Jaya. I still can’t quite believe that I have this beautiful little boy and I just want to soak up every second with him. I don’t want to miss a single heartbeat. So, here’s to capturing the moments and the memories.

Sunday afternoon hanging out with his Papa on the couch. Wide eyed, always so curious. Lots of smiles. Wriggly bum {as always}.
I am linking up with Jodi at Practising Simplicity.
