I know that most of you {my avid readers, at least} have most probably been to Indonesia, and probably more than once. Am I right? I know some of you are just as in love with Indonesia’s rich, diverse cultures and landscapes, as I am. {That’s why you are probably reading this post in the first place!}
But, how about your friends or family. How about people in your local community. Have they been to Indonesia and discovered the wonderfulness that is this country of over 18,000 islands with a population of over 250 million people?
If you’ve not been before, getting accustomed to their culture can be a challenge to begin with but you’ll soon find yourself joining in! One thing to note is that they have different laws and customs that you need to respect. I know people wonder why I continue to return to Indonesia every year, and it’s difficult to explain all the things I love about Indonesia and it’s people. Perhaps these images will assist in explaining the beauty of Indonesia and why I continue to return to the archipelago that is our {Australia’s} closest neighbour.
Here are some of the things that I love about Indonesia; crystal clear oceans and white sandy beaches, stunning sparkling sunrises and sunsets, tradition and culture, serene landscapes, nature and wildlife, adventure, remote islands, palm trees, fusion cuisine, luxury private villas and tropical fruit cocktails.
Yeah, I know what some of you may be thinking. There are many countries around the world that have these things. But… Indonesia. Is. So. Much. More. Than. Just. This!
Indonesia is a smorgasbord for the senses, and although it’s easy for me to share with you the ‘sights’ of Indonesia, it’s not so easy for me to share with you the other senses such as; sound, touch, smell and taste. Think about it, there’s no way I can share with you the smells {good smells…I mean!} like incense, sate being cooked over coals on the street, frangipanis, kretek {clove} cigarettes and coconut oil. And so much more. I love the smells of Indonesia.
Today’s post is a visual journey that I think anyone could relate to and that will surely get your holiday inspiration on track. I have been scouring my photo albums and I have found 13 photos of Indonesia that I think would make anyone want to rush out and buy a direct ticket to Indonesia. I hope that you’ll share this post with any of your friends and family that haven’t been to Indonesia yet. Let’s show them how beautiful Indonesia really is and maybe…just maybe they’ll go to Indonesia and also discover the beauty.
